I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all, and for those who have joined this group recently, to formally welcome you to the Royal Navy Forum and our Facebook Community Group.   Both work in conjunction with the other to allow my team and I to keep you all informed and up to date on the good work we undertake whilst on operations overseas. They are also excellent and easily accessible platforms to support and grow the wider Crew 3 community. I actively encourage discussion in our Facebook Group between friends and families in order to strengthen our community. The participation in this group is particularly relevant now, as we remain under unprecedented restrictions upon our daily life as a consequence of the ongoing pandemic. Please do ensure that you are also subscribed to the Forum space as there may be times where my messages cannot be placed into our Facebook Group - being subscribed will ensure you are notified of any updates directly into your email inbox. I am acutely aware of the challenges of long periods of separation as both a husband and a father of young children, and also the personal sacrifices that you all make to allow your loved ones to serve in the Royal Navy. As the COVID-19 vaccine programme continues to gather pace, we can tentatively look forward to a return to normality later in the year. I will endeavour to ensure that an appropriate work/life balance is achieved upon our return to the UK in the Summer.   The ongoing support of our families and friends is essential to the wellbeing of the Crew and underpins their individual and collective professional output.
